So... I'm an aunt

Yup. Miss Riley Grace was born on April 5, 2009 at 11:35AM. Weighed in at 7lbs, 9oz. 20 1/2 inches in length.

Interesting story that goes with that. So, we get the call that my sister was admitted to the hospital at 7:45PM on Saturday night. Her water broke at 4:00PM that afternoon. Her contractions were up to 102-106 on the scale by the time we got there. Everyone thought since she was doing so well with the contractions (seriously, she didn't scream once during them), she would have no problem with the birth. My sister didn't.... but the baby did. She was fully dilated at 5:00AM on Sunday morning so they had her push. The baby wasn't going anywhere though. Oh no. The baby's head was stuck against her pubic bone. Every time my sister pushed the baby would move a little bit but once she stopped pushing the baby would go right back to it's original position. So they ended up doing an emergency c-section at 10:30AM. 5 hours of pushing.

And so Riley was born! She's such a content baby! I don't think she has ever cried unless she needs something. It's amazing. Oh and so advanced! She's already picking her head up and looking around for several seconds. I don't know if that's normal, but I love her already.

Haven't done this in a while

So I decided to blog again. I've been up to my old tricks, made a new website. Two, actually. www.wix.com/stephanieh/new1 and www.wix.com/stephanieh/new2. They aren't much to look at yet, but I'm working on it.

School started back up.... I have finals next Friday. I know, I know. My life is so exciting. And I mean that in the most sarcastic way possible. Anywhoo... I don't know if I said this before, but I love photography. I've really taken an intrest in it ever since I heard that I'm going to become an aunt. I want to take loooads of pictures of the baby for my sister so she will have all those great pics, but wont have to pay for a professional. The second site up there ^ ^ has some of my best photos on there.

For those of you who haven't heard yet, 'Tick... Tick... BOOM!' is one of the best musicals ever. It was written by the late Jonathan Larson in 1990 and was a one-man monolouge about his life. Now it is a play, but it still portrays the same information. The songs are amazing and the actors are wonderful. You should really check it out.

The Charger That Tried to Kill Me

Okay, so, here I was, sitting in my room, on my laptop when the charger snaps itself out of the port and turns into a giant snake! No joke. It was still plugged into the wall so when I heroically grabbed the end of it, it electrocuted me! Shocked the life out of me. Luckily I had just enough energy to unplug it and smash it with a hammer.

Yeah... now the real story. I was on my laptop, reading some fanfiction, and I was holding the charger. My chin was resting on my hand (the one with the charger) and I absentmindedly started chewing on the charger. It's just a habit I have. But, like I said, the charger was still plugged into the wall socket, so when it touched my mouth I got shocked. It stung like a [Insert cuss word of choice here].

And that is the tale of how the charger to my Mac almost killed me. Thank you, and goodnight.

Only 14 Days Until The End Of The Earth

It's like one of those, 'you will die in seven days' things.

Anywhoo... I really don't have anything to say. It's 5:30 on Thursday, December 11, 2008. It's raining and really dark outside. Exactly two weeks until Christmas and we still don't have a tree. It sucks.

Happy December

December 3rd, 2008. 4:48 PM EST. I can't believe a year went by so fast. Okay enough quoting RENT. But it is December, which means the holiday season is rolling in once again. And the year really did go by fast. It seems like we were just starting school yesterday.

You want to know something crazy? Last time I looked at my sister's Myspace it said '4 weeks pregnant'. Now, it says '22 weeks pregnant'. WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN??!!!??! She's halfway there! I wanted so badly to call her up and tell Little Kicker (my nickname for Riley (Riley is the baby)) to stop growing so fast! But, I guess that is a good thing, so maybe I won't tell her to stop. She still has a long way to go.

It's winter.

And it is not fun.

Went to DC for Thanksgiving. It was alright, but there really is no place like home. Even if "home" is wet, cold, and rainy for the past two days. That's winter for you.

On the bright side, only 26 more days until Christmas! I don't know why, but Christmas really irks me. I don't like the fact that everyone plasters on smiles and gives because it "helps their conscious". They should do that all the time. Not once a year. Then again, once is better then never.

On another bright side, only five more months until miss Riley Grace is born! Riley is my niece on my sister's side. She is four months pregnant and loving (almost) every minute of it. It's definitely a plus now that morning sickness is over. I'll tell you what, that kid is going to be the most spoiled little chikee in the world. She's the first grandchild on either side of the family. And also, one of the few Great grandchildren. I can't wait until she is here. It seems so far away, but I know that when she is born everything will go by so fast.

Anyone ever hear the song 'I'm Yours' by Jason .... something. I love it :)
